Game News V Rising: Vampires invade Steam, impressive sales figures revealed
It’s undoubtedly one of the great successes of this late spring, and it’s hard to say that we saw it coming despite the good impressions left by the previews. Yet, in just four days, 500,000 copies were sold.
Vampires are still popular
Halfway between Valheim and Diablo in its gameplay, V Rising is an early access survival and action game in which players take on the role of a vampire ready for anything to dominate the region in which it is located. Initially quite weak, he begins by having to gather resources and start building a castle from which he will sow terror. By dint of going to feed, slaughter and explore, he will gain in power and skills. Playable solo but designed to be shared in multiplayerV Rising quickly made its mark on Steam with half a million copies sold.
The million, the million !
A success partly due to word of mouth, but also thanks to its combat, construction and crafting systems that fit together very well. As one would imagine, the phenomenon often occurring when a game achieves such a breakthrough, this was only the beginning. A week after its release, the title exceeds all expectations of Stunlock Studiosand reached a new milestone in terms of sales.
As of May 24, V Rising had landed in the Steam library of a million players! In other words, V Rising was bought 500,000 times in 4 days, then another 500,000 times in 3 days. A success which the developers rightly welcome, who did not fail to announce this million on social networks:
1,000,000 vampires have come out of their slumber! Thank you all for participating in this achievement!
Public and omnipresence in the Steam rankings
Developed by the creators of the MOBA Battlerite, V Rising has excellent reviews on Steam, and motivates players, who have been more than 150,000 to connect simultaneously on the Valve platform. The figures are much less impressive than for Dota 2, Lost Ark or even PUBG and Apex Legends, but they allow the title to be the most played paid game on Steam right now. It remains to be seen how the title will behave in the coming weeks, but one thing is certain, the rest of the development has been, at least in part, secure.
Last week, V Rising had the luxury of being the best selling of the platformand even to figure twice in the standings thanks to the sale of its founder pack, sold for €29.99. Currently, he even appears three times in the top 5 since the basic game pack (€19.99) + the DLC pack (€53.97) entered 3rd place. The rest of this top is occupied by the Steam Deck, as well as FIFA 22, which has a reduction of 84% (9.59€).
