There are a thousand and one things said about the PS5 remake of The Last of Us and yet we haven’t seen a crumb of it… Despite everything, today there is talk of a release window, already. And that would be set for this year.
The Last of Us Remake, again and again him
The Last of Us was released in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and immediately established itself as a classic for a whole host of good reasons. Naughty Dog’s little marvel hit the bullseye and although it’s not that long ago, imagine that a remake cut for the PS5 would however have been in development for years. It’s quite strange for a game that is not ten years old, still perfectly modern and which has also benefited from a remaster on PS4, but it would really be the case according to more than one source and index.
Suddenly, here we are waiting a long time for a formalization which, we hope, should not delay any longer. New hallway noise this time comes from Jeff Grubb, arguably one of the industry’s most trusted journalists and insiders, who spoke on the Kinda Funny podcast:

According to the many sources of the American, The Last of Us Remake would therefore be scheduled for the end of 2022, on PlayStation 5…
Factions mode also in the game?
As a reminder, we officially know that Naughty Dog is working on a brand new multiplayer game and particularly ambitious. Unofficially, we are pretty sure that this is a The Last of Us projectoriginally the Factions mode of the second episode, abandoned and then finally resumed to be considerably expanded.
It has long been said that this multiplayer game The Last of Us would take the form of a free-to-play with microtransactions, either a completely viable business model these days and above all, in line with Sony’s recent policy of offering service games (a dozen over the next few years, just that). Only… another hearsay recently brought another theory.
This one would like this mysterious multi game to be finally attached to the PS5 remake of The Last of Us, as a multiplayer part : it would then be a way to flesh out the proposal and give a little more value to a remake that is not necessarily legitimate. Alas, we have no choice but to wait until Sony speaks: fingers crossed that it is next.
