Game news The Last of Us Part 1: the weight of the PS5 remake already revealed, prepare your SSD
Announced this month, The Last of Us Part I caused debate, terribly even. While waiting to see if this remake is relevant, the weight of the game has just appeared on the PlayStation Store… and you may have to make room.
The big comeback
It was during the opening show of the Summer Game Fest 2022 that Sony will have lifted the veil on The Last of Us Part I, remake planned for PlayStation 5 and PC of the cult game The Last of Us. Originally released on PS3 in 2013, the adventure of Joel and Ellie will therefore be entitled to a makeover thanks to a completely retyped techniquecoming devilishly close to that of a The Last of Us Part II, to name but one.
So, inevitably, we expect a particularly… massive weight. It is the PlayStation Store that is now telling us the wick: the minimum space required on the SSD of the PS5, to accommodate the game, is 79GB. Almost 80GB, so this is the official size of The Last of Us Part I on PS5, a figure that could grow depending on the different updates.
Deep in horror
Naughty Dog promises in any case a particularly modern experience for this remake as expected as it is decried. “Everything was redone from scratch”: the faces have been changed, with greatly enhanced facial animations and comedian performances even better transcribed than in the original game. The artificial intelligence has also been completely revised.
The gameplay has also been modernized with “improved effects, combat and exploration”. Finally, this PS5 redesign will worthily exploit the capabilities of the machine as 3D audio or even adaptive triggers and haptic feedback of the DualSense.
We remind you that the title will be released on the white monolith on September 2, 2022 at full price, namely 79.99 euros. A PC version will also arrive later at an undetermined date.
