Game News Street Fighter: Bruce Lee’s relatives talk about the future of Fei Long, video game tribute to the Little Dragon
A few days ago, a rumor circulated about the possible disappearance of Fei Long in the Street Fighter games. During a broadcast on YouTube, the composer of Street Fighter V, Daniel Lindholm, thus certified that the character was a problem for the family of Bruce Lee and that we would never see this fighter again in the Capcom franchise. In the wake of this assertion, the vg247 site hastened to contact him to have the end of the story and the person concerned toned down his remarks. And according to those close to the late Bruce Lee, this is all fabrication.
For all those who have followed the Street Fighter series since its inception, Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers remains an emblematic piece of Capcom’s license. At the time, everyone took a slap when they discovered the intro (showing a gigantic Ryu performing a hadōken facing the screen) and the four new fighters in the cast. Alongside Dee Jay, T-Hawk and Cammy appeared a certain Fei Long, a character whose physique and body language were fully inspired by Bruce Lee. A movie star living in Hong Kong, the protagonist made an impression with his attacks interspersed with little cries and his movements reminiscent of the mythical Chinese-American actor. Of the new quartet, he is also the one who makes the biggest appearance in the excellent Street Fighter II: The Movie. In short, he is an important character in the franchise and his disappearance was enough to puzzle the fans, especially since Fei Long is above all a tribute to Bruce Lee.
BRUCE LEE’S FAMILY DENY CLAIMS
Seeing that the information was starting to make noise on the web, the official account of the late Bruce Lee (which is held by his daughter Shannon), wanted to answer questions from podcaster Jake James. And this one is without appeal:
We never made any comments of this nature. We have no idea who @DanielLindholm says his ‘close friends’ of the family are, but his comments are entirely false surrounding the Bruce Lee Family.

We have never made comments of this nature. We have no idea what “close family friends” @DanielLIndholm is talking about, but his comments are totally untrue when it comes to the Bruce Lee family.
According to Shannon Lee, there is therefore no reason for Capcom to put an end to Fei Long’s long career. The choice depends on the Japanese publisher and it will be interesting to see if the character returns in the next episode of the license.
