Red Dead Redemption: a remake announced for May?
When you think of Rockstar and rumors, it’s often Grand Theft Auto VI that comes to mind first. A legitimate reaction since the latter crystallizes a lot of expectation, especially since Rockstar recently declared that the “development of the next opus of Grand Theft Auto is well underway“. Location of the action, characters of departures or even payment in NFT… Rumors around the sixth iteration are numerous. But it is not GTA in question here, but Read Dead Redemption: a remake or a remaster of the first opus would be in preparation. It is on Twitter that the information is shared by the leaker BOCOBOCACO

The remake / remaster (we don’t know yet) will be announced this year, but won’t be released before the second quarter of 2023 (…) GTA VI will be announced in a few months, a trailer will be released this year.
Words that follow the logic of his statements made at the beginning of April: according to his most reliable source, the announcement of this remaster should take place in May. However, this weekend, he tempered his remarks; without being certain that the announcement will be made this month, he assures that this new edition of Red Dead Redemption “will be 100% announced this year“
Rockstar: busy last months
Of course, this must be taken with a grain of salt since nothing official resides in BOCOBOCACO’s words. In addition, many unforeseen events can pave the way for the announcement if this potential remake / remaster existed: we will therefore wait for an official communication from Rockstar before getting excited about the return of the adventures of John Marston.
In any event, Rockstar’s last few months have been eventful. In early November, the studio released a remake of Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition on PC and consoles (Nintendo Switch included). A problematic launch, which does not meet the expectations of the players (imperfect technique, bugs, optimization to be reviewed…). In the process, they therefore announced that they were working on the sequel to GTA before releasing, on March 15, an optimized PS and Xbox Series version of GTA 5. The opportunity for Rockstar to transform GTA Online into a game in its own right.
