Game news Metal Gear Solid: two flagship opuses withdrawn from online stores
Some may have noticed it: it is now impossible to acquire Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 on the various online stores. The news fell a few hours ago, directly announced by Konami.
If you had planned to treat yourself to Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 (or another game containing these), you will have to take your trouble patiently for a little while. Indeed, these two opus of Konami’s flagship series (produced and directed by Hideo Kojima) have been withdrawn from several online stores. The reason raised by the Japanese company concerns the rights relating to certain historical archives used in the game. Indeed, the cinematics of Metal Gear Solid are often punctuated with very real historical sequences, making it possible to illustrate, for example, the beginnings of space exploration during the Cold War.
Rest assured, this is a temporary decision. Konami is currently working on the renewal of these rights, in order to make these two games accessible again. It remains to be seen how long to wait, and whether the company will succeed. Otherwise, it is truncated that Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 could well reappear. To be continued.
