Real or virtual leverage – After acquiring a plot of virtual land in The Sandbox, Crossroads wants to become an employer 3.0 – or give the image of one. The company wants to attract specific skills, going recruit in the metaverse.
Crossroads and metaverse: simple publicity stunt or talent acquisition lever?
On May 18, 2022, Carrefour organized its first recruitments in the metaverse. The CEO of the company, Alexandre Bompardwas there “in the guise of a funny avatar”. This event aimed to attract “young candidate data analysts or data scientists”.
However, this initiative was critiqued by certain tweeters who reacted to Alexandre Bompard’s publication. The criticisms relate in particular to the graphics. Others believe that the metaverse are ultimately one buzzword.
The pickiest might have asked why this event wasn’t held on the company’s virtual lands in The Sandbox metaverse. Indeed, the recruitment session was partly organized by the French company VR-Académie.
The company was responsible for designing a virtual room for Carrefour. The 50 participants connected to it from their browser. This mode of access – and the accounting constraints that go with it – can explain the quality of the graphics and the animations – theimmobility of avatars.
Although these recruitments therefore took place in a metaverse, the participants were not entitled to a virtual reality experience as extensive as that seen in the films.
What will be the level of quality offered by the metaverse in 3 to 5 years? Will the players in the sector effectively manage to combine the physical and virtual worlds? Waiting, Meta opened a physical store to give a concrete idea of what its virtual world will have to offer.
As absurd as it may seem, Carrefour’s approach marks the time of interest in the metaverse. Start getting acquainted with this exciting world, and don’t wait any longer for yourself create an account on Binancethe leading Bitcoin and crypto exchange (affiliate link).
