Game news Assassin’s Creed: a free game to celebrate Ubisoft’s 35th anniversary
It is with a little delay that Ubisoft celebrates its birthday. The French company created by the Guillemot brothers in March 1986 waited until the end of the year to open hostilities with in particular a free game and tons of reductions.
Happy Birthday Ubisoft
Often criticized today, Ubisoft nonetheless remains one of the pillars of French video games. At the height of its 35 years, the company has given birth to major licenses, from Rainbow Six to Splinter Cell, including the Rayman and other Assassin’s Creed. The latter, which should welcome a new “innovative” opus, is also honored on the occasion of this anniversary with a free game.
Unfortunately, this is not one of the flagship titles of the license, but from a little-known spin-off released in 2016. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy is the result of the collaboration between Climax Studios (Silent Hill Origins) and Ubisoft Montreal. This compilation includes the games Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India, and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia. In each of them you play a different character (Shao Jun, Arbaaz Mir and Nikolai Orelov) in a specific historical context. If some links are drawn with the main games of the series (Shao Jun for example was formed by Ezio Auditore), this trilogy is very different from them. Indeed, it is about side scrolling games pushing you to move forward in a linear fashion in a 2.5D universe, very different therefore from the massive open world that we know today.
The formula has not been a huge success, either critically or commercially. Nevertheless, it is for free that Ubisoft invites you to discover this atypical adaptation of the universe of the Assassins. To do this, just go on the official Ubisoft website and log in with a Ubisoft Connect account. The offer is available from today until Friday, November 12.
This is not the only offer available on this occasion. Indeed, Ubisoft had started the festivities at the beginning of the month (November 2 to be precise), by launching massive discounts on a wide range of games. The promotions go up to -75% and will also stop on November 12th. We note in particular the youngest of the Assassin’s Creed series, Valhalla, at -40% or dozens of old games for less than 10 euros.
And for the lucky ones, know that it is possible to try to win rewards in your Ubisoft wallet. If you want to try your luck, it’s here that it happens, and this every day until December 5.
