Game News Apex Legends: PS5 and Xbox Series X in the sights of EA’s Battle Royale?
It’s been over a year since the next generation of consoles arrived, but Apex Legends still hasn’t been optimized for these machines. But let fans of the Electronic Arts game rest assured, things are about to change. According to several sources, the developers have heard the call of PS5 and Xbox Series X owners and are preparing to draw a big upgrade. We tell you more.
For anyone who wants to try their hand at Apex Legends on next-gen bikes, it’s possible, but those versions still rely on Sony and Microsoft’s console backwards compatibility system. Some players, tired of this old-gen version, have also started to move away from the game’s servers if we are to believe the messages posted on forums and social networks. Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment are aware of the issue and have every intention of responding if the tweet from the PlayStation Game Size account is to be believed:
In reality, this is not a surprise. Last summer, the studio’s communication department announced, through the voice of its manager, that a big update was in development for the next-gen. If the information has been circulating for a few hours, it is because the Twitter account in question is scrutinizing the patches and upgrades in preparation and they have spotted a huge 80 GB update for Apex Legends.
Even if Electronic Arts hasn’t announced anything for the moment, we strongly doubt that such a patch only reserves a series of fixes (especially since the tweet specifies “No update”). On the contrary, the indicated weight is more of a complete overhaul of textures and 3D models. The update might even push the game to 120 FPS.
Suffice to say that if you are fans of EA’s Battle Royale, this information should not leave you unmoved. Especially since this upgrade could happen quickly. As soon as we know more, we’ll let you know!
